About Heart of the Blue Ridge Sangha*

“Peace is all around us–in the world and nature–and within us–in our bodies and our spirits. Once we learn to touch this peace, we will be healed and transformed. It is not a matter of faith; it is a matter of practice.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

You are invited to join us for mindfulness meditation each Sunday morning
in the tradition of Buddhist Zen Master
Thich Nhat Hanh

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke
2015 Grandin Road, Corner of Grandin and Brandon
Time: 9:20 – 10:40 am Sundays

We start each Sangha meeting with sitting meditation, followed by walking meditation. Then we have a Dharma reading and discussion. For more information, contact Laurie at blueridgesangha@yahoo.com

“People say, ‘Thay does not teach much; he only teaches breathing in and breathing out’…which is true.” —Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) speaking at Plum Village, 2006

*Sangha: the Community that endeavors to practice the true teachings in harmony

Please Note:  The monks and nuns evicted from Bat Nha, a monastery in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh in Vietnam, are taking refuge at another temple. Updates on their status and additional background information on related events, including letters from Thay (Oct. 9 and 17), are available on the “Help Bat Nha Monastery” site (latest updates: Nov. 5).
